Someone makes this huge attempt on tge President thanks to a bad agent bodyguard then hours later the VP slips and cracks his head open in the bathroom?

It'll be clear when they do an autopsy and discover he died of a broken neck, instead of concussion from a fall.

I thought the idea was that there was nothing that could lead back to them and Jim Broadbent's character wanted to keep it that way.
