And I agree nothing actually really happened!
The US President was rescued, all the terrorists on site killed in interesting ways, the boy became a man - what else do you want?

I wanted someone to nail Jim Broadbent's character for the murder of Victor Garber and being behind the whole thing.
shareThe nameless vice president seemed to be the one behind the whole thing. Herbert and the rest were simply his hired help.
And it's not unusual in life and in fiction for the devious man in the shadows to escape justice.
Expecting every fictional work to wrap up with every main character getting their just deserts is a bit naive, I think. Now, if you were hoping for more on certain plot points (What was his motivation? What did Hazar mean by his being on the President's side? etc.), then those are more legitimate complaints against the film.
I could've told you all this without even watching the movie/trailer..
