Didn't Do anything to disprove Stereotype

That is my biggest issue with her project and the movie. Why was this project so praised? All she did was reinforce the perception of teen pregnancy. Her experiment didn't create any big reveals or surprised. Yet she still seemed shocked by being ostracized by her peers and faculty. People, even her friends and family, said mean things shocker, nope. This experiment was completely pointless because the real pregnant girl had all those things said about her and I bet no one apologized to her for their comments like they did Gaby.

the biggest problem with this social experiment is that being pregnant isn't the true issue with teen pregnancy it's what happens after giving birth and raising a child.

Why praise someone's miss attempt at the perception of teen pregnancy which only serves as aid to justify teen pregnancy. How about focus on teen pregnancy prevention so a young girl won't have to feel ostracized on top a whole bunch of other emotions while pregnant.

Agree. The entire project was pointless. She didn't prove anything at all...didn't prove that she could go to college with a baby, didn't prove that she could work with a baby, nothing...so utterly pointless. Waste of time.

I seriously do not get why this was approved as a senior project. The only thing difficult were the barbs and any other negative emotions...I had a sophomore project and it was NOT this easy crap...

Yeah, I don't get it. The big reveal was "you were mean to me and I'M NOT PREGNANT, now don't you feel stupid". Not "you were mean to me and that's unacceptable because I am still a person and you should be supporting me despite my bad choices, so that hopefully the child will have a good future against the odds, we need to work on preventing teenage pregnancy but still supporting the children born from it"

It's like she missed her own point

Exactly. My heart ached for the foster girl Tara at the end because she was completely used and the horrible message was, "See, I'm not really a screw up and can still have everything in life because I'm not knocked up."

I thought I can see how a teen would come up with an idea like this, but why didn't any of the adults realize the downfalls and step in? Gaby was narcissistic. When she was complaining about everyone thinking she was a bitch, I thought they were spot on. Her boyfriend put up with so much from his family for the sake of her project and she just acted like it was his job to support her as if she were going off to war or something, not doing a social experiment that could have easily been achieved with the consent of a pregnant teen for the subject.
