These idiots are trying to copy the success and shock of V/H/S. I hope this movie gets obliterated and is sent to oblivion. Stupid kids, can't come up with original ideias...

Dude, this is just a collection of Short films. I know the director. Trust me he didn't rip off anything.

Yes I have seen V/H/S. Im saying this is not a movie called Death By VHS. It's just the name of the whole collection of short films he is directing/writing. That's why on some of the cast members you see (Lepus) next to their roles. Lepus is one of the films he made.

That's why on V/H/S's cast you can see like "Gary - Calvin Reeder (Segment Tape 56), so it's still a ripoff no matter what.

The only thing it's ripping off is the title. the shorts in the collection have nothing to do with it.

See multiple films released by Asylum, such as Snakes on a Train, The Land That Time Forgot, Transmorphers, AVH: Alien vs. Hunter, The Da Vinci Treasure, Battle of Los Angeles, Paranormal entity and many other titles.

Your friend's film may be completely legit, but the final title, marketing, etc is very reminiscent of a lot of shameless cash-in DTV films, I believe that's what a lot of other posters are saying, and it's in no way desperate or a leap in logic.

The title of the movie is the premise of VHS, the plot is the same, the format is the same, it has VHS in the title, whether your friend is trying to capitalize on a cult hit or not, you HAVE to be able to see where everyone is coming from. No one is as oblivious as youre acting.

To the person defending: while this movie might be good and the story slightly different than VHS.. you have to see from our perspective... an anthology, wrap around story holding these together, horror films, VHS in the title.. The director was not using his head when he put this together unless he was straight up trying to copy the success of the VHSs..

Its looks like paranormal entity shortly following the success of paranormal activity.

If anything maybe the title just needs to be changed,legally anybody can make a film about murders on vhs,just as long as you are not using a script that does not belong to you or characters.

Its looks like paranormal entity shortly following the success of paranormal activity.

Yeah Paranormal entity is by asylum,its just a mockbuster and would be considered fair use.
