is it related to the series?

is this in any way related to the animated series?
or is it simply a separate animated film?

(yeah, I know it's "related" by the subject matter... I mean is it a continuation of that TV series, or something else entirely)

It's seperate, though some of the Dropships do bear a resemblance to the ships in the series.

It most likely draws from, but is not directly related to it.

I believe that in Invasion's timeline Earth never got invaded.

I think it goes along in the movie timeline. Bu takes similiar technology from the series which was more based on the novel with the power suits
