Would make a fun FPS for current/Next Gen consoles

It would be amazing if they made this a game for the PS3. I could spend hours with my squad, in a First Person perspective shooting and blowing up bugs all day. With a good story line, and Halo-like (or Call of Duty like) controls and visuals, it would be more fun to play than Halo or COD combined.

They could even have a multiplayer, with one of the game types being a team deathmatch where one side plays as the bugs (strong and resilante and fast) and one side plays as the humans (slower and easily killed, but deadly with their weapons and known for having a nac for survival)....

What do you guys think?

There was already a Starship Troopers FPS released in 2005. The only good thing was the huge amount of bugs (up to hundred) coming at you. Everything else was pretty mediocre but i guess fans of the movies will have some fun.

I doubt that today there would be a better game. Either it would be made by some third-rate company who releases crap or it would be made in the style of today's non-fun FPS like Crap of Duty and that with self-renerating health, a limited amount of weapons, completely scripted gameplay, linear levels for braindead retards filled with stupid AI so those idiots with ADHD don't die and lose interest after 5 minutes and tons of DLC...i doubt that any serious gamer would want such a game. The days of good first person shooters are sadly long over.

Funny how you mentioned Call of Duty and then described battlefield 3 gameplay.

You can have about the same action and fun with Aliens Colonial marines that will come out 2013 february 12 if VGReleases are correct. I Personally just fired up to get my hands on that baby.

As much as I would love to see a (better) Starship Troopers game it probably isn't going to happen.

To make it into a AAA title would require AAA money and the support of a AAA company to make it.

You could probably find a game studio that would like to make it, but I don't think that any major publisher executives would be up for it. They would look at past attempts, decide that the risk is not worth the reward, and then proceed to throw their money at already-established franchises.

Or better yet make it a proper shooter and put it on PC.
