Aliens: Nightmare Asylum

The plot point of the military training an army of enemy alien drones is very reminiscent of the Aliens: Nightmare Asylum plot line: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/avp/images/f/f6/Aliens_Book_Two_TPB.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150519102518

It kind of makes me want to see that comic adapted into a feature film (just not an animated feature with godawful voice acting). Alien: Resurrection sort of touches on that theme, but it could be explored much further, as we never see the drones taking orders from the military or fighting en masse against non-controlled drones (as we see in ST:I).
