What a waste of the scenery. This fictional town of very quiet losers did not find its way into my heart. What a bunch of inbred idiots. The girl, her brother, and mother were just as vapid. Outside of their chores, they just lay around and bask in the warm mountain sun. No books, no sewing, no NFL, no pot smoking, no board games, or Sudoku. After the first half hour of this movie, I was left wondering how they have any money to buy toilet paper.

I kept wondering why neither the girl nor her brother ever tried to do anything. There were guns all over the place. (One was lying right beside the corpse of the rapist who had just accidentally killed himself.) Surely one of them could have taken a shot?

Presumably the family got some money from the murdered father's insurance or some-such. Hence the collection at the post office.

Course the film makers avoided having the girl go into, for example, a supermarket to retain her unspoiled image.
