More optimistic episodes for season 5

I have read in some recent articles that when season 5 finally drops it will have more optimistic stories rather than dystopian or negative ones.
I dont really find this appealing as the show has always had a dark theme to it, and even the name black mirror itself falls into the darker category.
There have been some happy go lucky episodes like san junipero that I love, but those seemed like one offs in a 6 episode season. I dont want 6 full happy episodes in a season!

Where have you read that? I would assume that there would be a mix as there always is in Black Mirror episodes... but it seems hard to believe that it would be mostly optimistic... That is not the Black Mirror way...

The fifth season was originally announced on March 5, 2018 via Twitter. There wasn't much information provided, just a caption proclaiming that "The future will be brighter than ever" and the announcement that the show would "be right back."

Brooker claims that, when Black Mirror does return, the stories will be "more optimistic" and stray a little away from the series' signature dystopian aesthetic.

Well then we will just have to wait and see... I would be dissapionted if there aren't a couple of dark endings among the new episodes...

That would be terrible, especially seeing as how most of season 4 already was pretty optimistic, in the sense that the "bad guys" got their due.
What I loved about the other seasons was the sense of hopelessness when things went south. It felt somehow real.
It wasn't about good or bad people, right or wrong. The main characters were thrown (often by their own actions) into chaotic, sometimes impossible situations, with the only facilitator being the technology, and there were no happy endings.
The only episode that seemed to follow that motif in season 4 was "Metalhead", and even then, it wasn't that great of an episode because of how stupid the characters' actions were.
