Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone?

Enjoy both. Can't decide.

without a question twilight zone for me. I've only watched 3/4th of both series but twilight zone was much more prolific and had without question better episodes in comparison to the best of black mirror. Im a big fan of black mirror but i give weight to things that have been around longer and are still relevant. i think if the show continues it could equal or surpass it but it would have to grow in quality and scope which i really hope for

If any anthology could surpass Rod Serling's genius it would be this one.

i think so too and hope it does because its one of my favorite modern television shows. but i think i can name more 9/10 to 10/10 twilight episodes than there are total of black mirror. at the same time i give black mirror a higher percentage of their episodes being 9-10/10 range

One little difference I noticed is that in many of TZ's stories, there was an underlying theme of nostalgia for the past. Rod Serling did tackle the future, but I like most of the episodes where you could tell he missed his childhood. Whereas Black Mirror can't wait for the future. I like both, but I can't sit down with my kids and watch Black Mirror due to the language and nudity. But my 5 yr old is always intrigued by any TZ episode I turn on. And since I'm a toy collector, I love the look on his face when I ask.. you wanna see the mystic seer and ask some questions? Or, hey you wanna check out the Gremlin on the airplane? He's starting to understand my garage is filled with treasures. LOL!

I truly do appreciate the family friendliness of the Twilight Zone and it still got its “warning”/skepticism messages across.

That's awesome.

Outer limits has more in common with Black Mirror than Twilight zone. Besides TZ include supernatural and fantasy theme that black mirror doesnt do.

I loved Outer Limits as a kid. My dad always let me stay up for it when it was on on sunday nights. I don't know how dated that show would look today. I recommended Black Mirror to my sister saying it's similar to Outer Limits which she loved too back in the day.

To the OP, I've never seen a single episode of twilight zone so of course I'm going with BM.

If you like "Black Mirror" as much as I do here's some "TZ" episodes with similar themes:

Shadow Play
Perchance To Dream
Where is Everybody
And When The Sky Was Opened
The After Hours
Third From The Sun
In His Image
Number 12 Looks Just Like You
Eye of the Beholder
The Obsolete Man
The Invaders

I love them both, but they're sort of apples and oranges. BM explores the influence (usually bad) of technology on our lives. TZ was an exploration of lots of different topics and ideas.
