Really bothers me that Thief never gets his comeuppance.

Notwithstanding the weakness of the plot (and it is undeniably weak), the only thing that truly troubled me about this movie is that there are no repercussions to the thief. His violent assault and battery, and ensuing ruining of this poor woman's life, was uncomfortable to watch to say the least. I found the Being Pig Malkovich guy much less interesting than I think the writer/director intended. He was just another creepy white guy voyeuristic weirdo except with the added dimensions of pig-viewing. But not only do NONE of the characters experience any arcs whatsoever, nothing ever happens to the annoying thief. He just grows an ugly goatee and keeps operating in his scummy way. That's the only thing that really pissed me off about this movie.

He does get his comeuppance. His source of income is now destroyed and he will end up working retail shortly after the events of the movie.

I disagree that no characters experience any arcs. The two main characters go from normal people, to traumatized strangers with no idea what happened, to a married couple experiencing some odd mental abilities, to working on a pig farm. That's an arc right there. There's a lot going on in this movie.

The victims take over the pig farm and no more pigs will be dumped in the water, so there will be no more orchids for the thief to make his drug. He gets his comeupance, as does the sampler. The victims have taken their power away to hurt other people with the worms.

Doesn't she?

"Pig Malkovich guy"! LOL, sheherlis!

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, and / or doesn't.

I don't know if I agree that his source of income has stopped. What about the pig's bodies when they die? What about the other worms that had to exist when the kids were using it? What about the orchards that were sold to other people, not sold yet, etc?
