I appreciated the whimsical way that the story began with the delivery of the family's very first television set and ended with the Coronation being shown on the television set with the whole family watching. (And the advice of the lady's maid that "circumstances change things; Elizabeth was not born to be Queen, and neither was her father born to be King." John took her advice and became Johnny for good, and stays with the family; to be the father, husband, son, and brother that the family all needed.
It was also "amusing" when the sister and sister-in-law took possession of the television set and wondered aloud, to the delivery men, just exactly where (which room) was customary in which to place the unit; drawing room, morning room, library, etc. Of course, most homeowners had exactly one place for their television and didn't suffer from multi-room possibilities.
