Denniston gives them 1 month time to crack Enigma or he will fire them..Once they cracked the code Alan informs only to Menzies and tells him it should be kept a secret from everyone including Denniston..But Alan explains later it took 2 years for them to win the war from the day they cracked the code..So how come they worked in Bletchley without Denniston knowing it ! We can argue Alan took the machine to his home and worked from there which we see in the final scenes but how come Denniston allows him to take a £100,000 machine(which is a huge amount at that time) to his home without even knowing he cracked the code.

I'm actually embarrassed for you. I never said you used the word inaccuracies, my point is that's the word you should have used instead of plot holes.

This is just my conjecture. It's quite possible Menzies himself agreed with Denniston in that the project was making no ground and was merely bleeding the MOD coffers dry and therefore had little or no inclination to prevent Denniston from scrapping the project should he see fit. However Menzies is in Military Intelligence and reports directly to Churchill. Once he knew the machine worked he would have had no problem telling Denniston to go 'proverbial' himself.

Joan says outright, "you can take care of that," when this issue is thought up. They didn't need to worry about Dennisen if someone higher up protected their jobs.

So let's say that in real life Denniston was the problem....AND things played out as the drama in the film would have us believe....The solution built by Turing would have greatly exceeded any value Denniston would have provided. They would have just moved Denniston out of Blechley and that would have been that.

A sensible answer from someone who used their common sense instead of rushing to create a forum thread about a supposed PLoT HoLE! If I had a penny...

This film was too clever for some people.

Yeah....hence my IFS...and ANDS...I hear he liked to do business his own way....but not a nasty guy in the least....But they needed to build drama so that the film would work.
