I got the book because I thought the TV adaptation was not good.

And discovered that the adaptation so far, pretty much reflects the book very, very accurately, unusually so...now an edit... huge apologies to the production company, they have done a fantastic job considering the standard of the material they had to work with. To say they improved it is an understatement.

I got the sneaky feeling that it was written in tandem with the book initially and that possibly did happen but the tv production fleshed it out immeasurably.
The book seems aimed at an almost teenage market...very odd.

One major criticism remains with Anna, the child DI sleuth (completely erratic...how did she get to be a DI).
Amongst many other issues with the character it is delightful to see, once again our Senior police inspector totter around in her high heels and extremely tight skirt and even tighter blouses.
Oh. for a chase sequence to see her land flat on her.a***.

Mind you,I could be being really unkind to 'Anna' and co having spent the day before watching The Killing 2 right the way through and perhaps my expectations just hadn't dropped quite low enough to watch the Lynda La Plante writings of today.

Having,as said, read the book I wasn't being unkind at all... just unkind to the TV production company who made the very best of a terrible job.I assume someone has someone else in an armlock re script at times but they left out some of the unreasonably ridiculous wordage...and for that ...thank you.

Bring back the initial series of Jane Tennyson standard of writing Lynda....please.Or just stop altogether. You really were better than this once...

'Off the record, on the QT, very Hush,Hush!
