'Hard Candy' with a happy ending

It's nothing like Hard Candy. The girl was 17 and said she was 18. Candice did not groom her and their relationship helped Ashley stop cutting herself and become more emotionally healthy by the end. Candice was the one person in the movie, besides the goofy male friend, who didn't harm Ashley in some way.

There is no comparison between an age difference romance and someone being abused. Just because you personally were uncomfortable with the age difference doesn't make it child abuse. That did not happen. They showed what real abuse was through the other characters. You have a very warped view of what was going on with Candice. The relationship actually brought about positive changes not negative.

Them having phone sex isn't something unusual, neither is picking people up online. Candice did think she was of legal age. Yes, she knew she was a senior in High school but still she thought she was already 18 and not just almost. Some viewers may think it's unethical but that's down to each to decide. Though no one should believe it's child abuse as it was a consensual and caring relationship whether some like the circumstances surrounding it or not. Don't belittle what Ashley went through with her dad, guy who tried to rape her and her mom's boyfriend by comparing them. Those were sexual abuse not the relationship between the women. It could be considered immoral by some but that's as far as anyone can go with the accusations.

i liked the movie but didn't really like the ending, it wasn't happy, it was weird
she played with her knife with that home-schooled girl and made her freak out
she pulled the hair of that girl in the care and made her freak out
and with Candice it went so smooth without doing anything freaky and all of a sudden she started being friendly to others?
abt the older woman being a predator I don't think ppl would look at it like that, she was nice to her and very soft and took it step by step and so slowly
and Ashley told her she was 18
if it was a man he would rush her into sex and leave her after that and he wouldn't care abt her at all and Ashley wouldn't lie abt her age so ppl would really be screaming, it is how they portray the case
oh and the man would be very average looking if not less and over 35
I don't blame them, that woman played a very nice character to attract Ashley so not a lot of ppl would scream abt it.
