Past sheriff candidate faces jail sentence
By Jonathan Ellis
A former candidate for Jefferson County sheriff faces six months in jail after a judge found him in contempt of court on Friday.
Rich Wyatt, a Wheat Ridge gun dealer who unsuccessfully ran for sheriff in 2002, has three months to pay his ex-wife nearly $90,000. Judge Chris Voisinet also ordered him to turn over two guns to the woman. Wyatt has three months to meet those obligations or spend six months in the county jail.
