$2,000 paint job on a gun for police?

On the episode Lapua Sniper Rifle/Machine Gun Cache s02e09, they make a sniper rifle with an expensive paint job for the police. Surely this is fake? Either that or the sheriff needs to be fired for wasting public funds.

Perhaps the sheriff was just spending some of his Obama supplied "STIMULUS" money?
This show continues to be an insult to the firearms business and to gun owners and collectors.

Interesting side note.
