how the hell this movie isnt popular

and doesn't have a higher rating ?
its a really good deep thriller with an amazing cast and the storytelling in it is very involving plus very good and convincing action .

It didn't have George Cloony, Brad Pitt or that crazy chick who everyone hates. Most people suckle on the teet of popular culture, which means most people like movies they are programmed to watch. I'm a big fan of great supporting actors, which means I see Forrest Whittaker and guys like Luis Guzman and John C Reilly a lot.

I thought this was pretty great (though I like a bunch of stuff with those glossy people magazine cover boys too.)

My favorite? If I have to pick just one? I really like Gary Oldman. Also I'm big on great supporting cast- like Bruno Kirby (rip), Tracy Walter, Peter Dinklage, Alan Tudyk, Vinnie Jones, etc..

Most people in our country are sheep who think that stuff like this doesn't happen or if they do than it's the right thing to do because the U.S. government is involved, or they don't care because of the lie that's been told to them that if we didn't have these people to exploit than we would not have these little petty things to buy.

yup .. that's pretty much how it is every place else .. not just the u.s ,, people love being lied to .. it's easier for them that way .. if they cared from the first place .

reply

I wouldn't say every place, but it is not just the U.S. What makes the U.S. stand out is the control the media has, so much control that people are calling it the 4th branch of the government.

It's them not caring, because people got pretty upset when it was revealed that the NSA was spying on them, not everyone, but a lot of them. If it's their butts, than they will care.

So people care as long as they can buy the latest iphone and the newest gadgets at the lowest possible price.

That is laughable. During the Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan wars the media has never been censored more. You will be hard pressed to find pictures of civilian casualties in a major media publication.

reply

Why is it laughable? You seem to get it. The days of Watergate exposing journalism and graphic war pictures (from the mainstream media) are gone. Now the media is part of the government, the 4th branch.

How it happened, in short, after the pictures of the suffering in Vietnam became public (the girl running down the street naked and that execution picture), there was a big outrage, so after Vietnam, the government took control of war zones, they won't let "journalists" from CNN, FOX, NBC on the front lines to record such atrocities because it's a bad image for the military, when they should be focusing of not allowing such atrocities to continue (Abu Ghraib, Hadith massacre by the Marines, Mahmudiyah killings and the gang rape of a 14 year old girl, etc...)
Of course, there are exceptions, but those carry their own interest by the people that run these networks.

yes people care as long as they can buy the latest iphone and the newest gadgets at the lowest possible price ,, at one point my ex was crying and depressed cause she didn't a find a meaning for her life '' she was feeling bored probably '' ,, and on the news a little kid somewhere where people kill each other was shown killed ,, it didn't effect her one bit ,, like it was fiction .. like it was a bad cartoon an adult shouldn't care about !! ,,, hell check out a homeless kid or and oldie at the street starving to death ,, do people around him care ? nope .. now am not judgmental ,,, everyone has their problems ,,, but for sure there's nothing as sexy as an ideal world and that *beep* .
as for media ,,, its a business oriented whore and her pimp is politics '' with an apologize to whores for that simile '' .

I agree, but it's not a judgmental thing to point out the lives other people have to live, I help whenever I can from a financial standpoint, I sent money overseas to families that need it and helped here with local food drives.

For example, after the earthquake in Haiti, a lot of parents died, now you have a 10 year old, as one example, taking care of her younger siblings who are 4, 5 and 6 years old, living in shelter tents.
Than you have these manufacturing factories, as one example, you have a factories where iphones are assembled and around them are nets under the windows so that workers would not jump to their deaths...suicide.
Than you have, another example, the corporate heads of Coca Cola actively ordering the killings of union workers and discrimination in other countries, including Turkey, Mexico, El Salvador, India, China.

good for you about helping others out ,, usually am a little cynical with people saying they are doing charity work because everybody I meet who claims to be is as fake as a public speech ,, you got no reason to brag so I believe you ;)
I don't want to sound cliche but yeah the big fish has the money '' big corporations '' and the power of investments ,, politicians owns the power of illusion ' people's mind and how to sell an overdone idea '' they don't even need to put any effort if you ask me they are amateur marketers ! '' and the people .. ha .. the big joke .. they just live thinking its cool to live like everybody else .. everybody so involved in fitting in they don't stop to check the map on where the train going .
in the last 8 years of my life I really started to believe that corruption is as essential as adrenaline ,, its just a matter of when to pump out .. and am 25 !!
8 years later I hope something nastier wouldn't come along :)
