Begosian

hahaha. I have no problems with the last name altogther, it's just that
everytime they say his last name, it just sounds funny. Just doesn't sound like a super spy type of last name...if you get my drift.

And yeah, this movie blows.

His last name sounds Armenian, but I've never heard such. It should be Pogosian.

My good buddy, who is Armenian, said the same thing, meaning it sounded Armenian.

I honestly think it should be at most 3 syllables, mostly the 1 or 2 syllable last names sound better because an emphasis can be placed on 1 of the syllables to make it bad-a.s.s.
Schwarzenegger is about the only long syllable sounding last name that works, but then again, he never used it as a character name in any of his movies.

Thanks to all for the warning. I really like the cast and would have definitely given it a look. For such a talented actor Andy Garcia has really become a turd magnet.
Re:Begosian there is an Armenian American hockey player named Zack Bogosian. The same name but for one letter which was a common Ellis Island tweak for immigrants unable to right their names in English (Armenian alphabet is similar to Russian Cyrillic). Since Zach is a bit of a bruiser the name sounds to me like someone who would be a hard enemy. Funny how we make such associations. If Andy's character was named Nureyev would that make him gay?:)b

Don't know where you come from the people are named long before they become spies (or firemen or whatever).

I think it's a nod to actor Eric Borgosian who played chief on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He also played the lead in the film Talk Radio, based on a true story. As soon as I heard the name for Garxia's character I thought of Eric and that film Talk Radio.
