It would have made 32 million, but all the white people got scared off

They saw the crowds for opening night and decided not to tempt fate. So they saw Thor again instead.

I've just never seen morris chestnut, 44, act so mean and scary in a movie before - his character was so nice (though no one's perfect, including movie characters) with gabrielle union, 41, in that other Christmas movie, '07's "the perfect holiday"

reply

Well I watched the first one on cable a couple of years ago I liked this film but it just had to much God stuff with Moris's character

reply

No..they are too good for Ns (HA!)..They're gonna wait until it comes out on video and watch it every afternoon with their kids..and then use it as an excuse to rip off their clothes and have sex in front of them.

#Whenever Blacks come around everyone has sex or gets really angry. Then noone talks about it.

reply

Who cares! We all know about "double standards" right! They want US to support their ICONIC films that almost always never have Black People in them BUT you won't see them running to the theatre to support our ICONIC FILMS! Let us support OUR films...forget about them.

reply

missgangsmashers...maybe part of the problem is the whole "OUR movies vs. THEIR movies" attitude. I happen to be white, saw the movie and thought it was quite good. I'm a big fan of many of the actors in it. And my theater had plenty of diversity in it. So why are you just automatically asserting that white people don't support ("YOUR") movie? Who said you get ownership of it. In my theater, it happened to "everyone's" movie. Give that a try sometime. You seem standoffish and very "us vs. them". That helps nothing.

reply

Hear hear.

I can promise you a day of reckoning that you will not live long enough to never forget.

reply

LOL or are you remembering the Dark Knight movie premier?

Well, the craziness has spread from races and venues. Hate has many faces, and is quite seductive. And underneath it, it has usually happened to those that hate, or how did they learn it. Someone made them believe that they were not worthy, or they couldn't understand that no is not a bad word.
When we say things in secret that we wouldn't say in public we are cowards. When say things to make ourselves feel better at the expense of others we are hateful. Facts maybe facts, but when they are used like a weapon, that's hate. And what right do have to criticize people who are not like us. They feel like us.
Look around, hate has spread. If we aren't careful, we all become targets. Hate identifies and destroys. You can never change enough to satisfy hate, it isolates until there can be only one.

Didn't white folks enslave a group of people for 240 years?

reply

Are those people still alive? Just curious.

It's just funny how hollywood is talking about it like "Oh, an all black cast and people went to see the movie? Weird."

shall i go on?

reply

I would've gone, but i heard you have to have had seen Waiting to Exhale first, or else you won't understand what's going on... So i have that other film in my Neflix queue.

reply

Actually, it goes all the way back to The Color Purple. Every black film released in Hollywood after that are all sequels to that movie. Madea is the granddaughter of Oprah Winfrey's character.
