When the crew arrived, Mia was only a few days from death. Normally when people are so close to death, there are noticeable signs, such as hospital beds, nurses, meds, so many things. She was walking around and everything. Granted, she'd known of the cancer for a year, but it seemed like she went from relatively okay to dead in just a few days. Once the cat was out of the bag, it seemed like she went to full on dying cancer patient.

Normally I would agree with you. However, when my father had cancer, he was fine and fighting it for 5 years, and then suddenly went from OK to bad to dead in a week. So this is definitely possible.
Yes it's definitely possible. My mom fought lung cancer for four years and was moving about ok, for what she was going through. Then two days after we went shopping for clothes for her to wear to church for Mother's Day, her body was riddled with pain and pneumonia had taken over. All it took was for us to hit a bump in the road and it shook her body so hard it was like kicking an ant bed. She never spoke to us again. A week later she was gone. So yes, it is very very possible.

The final month(July 2013) of my father's life he seemed like he was doing well, and then during the last week of the month, his health rapidly declined and before we all knew it, he was gone. He was diagnosed with having esophageal Cancer, but it wasn't until about a month after finding out, he was stage 4, and then he was gone by the end of that month.
But it can definitely happen, people can try to hold on as much as possible and be strong for everyone; but the body can only take so much; especially if the Cancer is far more advanced.
