Why is this disliked?

I don't quite understand... of the very few posts about this, it's apparently disliked, but it's an interesting movie.

The americans were mediocre, but the rest of the cast was pretty cool, and Bayu was downright awesome.

It's pretty, the costuming and set designs are well done, the plot is interesting...

So, what gives? Just upset because the 2 americans didn't home-run it? Or... what?

Is there an actual reason, or just people who want to use the phrase "it sucked" in varying degrees of length and eloquence?

It was brutal....MR is a disgusting human being, he's the type of guy who looks dirty even when he just steps out of the shower. The acting was horrible, plain and simple. Don't waste your time on this stinker.

I didn't dislike it, but it just seemed to fall a bit flat to me, especially in the second half. Basically, it seemed like the sort of film I should love, but there was a spark missing and it couldn't seem to gain any momentum.

The acting was all sorts of awful and the story made exactly zero sense; the pacing or the lack thereof was a huge problem as was the cutting, some transitions were literally the worst I have seen in a very long time. Low budget is not an excuse either.
