brutal ending (not in a good way)

I enjoy Syfy originals. I think they are great for what they are.

But what the hell was up with the last yeti? He didn't even fight back! He let the girl hack him with an axe and he let the guy put the flame in his face for like a minute while he just stood there.
Then he gets impaled like his flesh is made out of paper.

I find it hard to believe these things could survive in the arctic against polar bears!
