Just finished watching it...

The 4.5 Rating had me a bit cautious at first, but I love Katharine Isabelle so I gave it a shot. Glad I did!

The 4.5 is misleading IMO, people really think this movie was that bad? Seriously?

It seems almost every movie(particularly Horror) I look at recently has a score of 4 or lower...though a lot may deserve such a low score I don't think this is one of them.

Did anyone else enjoy this?

And to those who think this film is so bad, please explain why, I get that we all have our own tastes but I didn't really see anything about this movie that stood out as being "Bad". Maybe average at worst.

I thought it was effin' great!!

Haha.. And oh man, the ending....

There were four of them vs the 'chief' zombie - I like to think the odds were good that they made it!

reply

It's a good film although it does have the usual 'zombie' flaws.

I liked it very much. Finally a non-apocalyptic Z-Movie, very refreshing (although wouldn't mind if it went that direction in part 2 or 3 with a bigger budget, if that would happen.)

I am not a fan of fast-moving Zeds, but i didn't mind them too much here except for at the end, but i guess that may be explained away as that being the "original" with undiluted whatever in him, while the others were more of the slow(er) moving variety as being infected through his bite. I could live with that (masses of slow ones, and a few special ones in between).

I had pretty much the same experience, nearly passed it by because of the low IMDB score like I do with most horrors these days, its a tired genre, but because it had Katherine Isabelle & Brendan Fletcher in it and I like Canadian films, I gave it a shot. I watched 'The Dead Zone' before it so it had a hard act to follow as well but I quite enjoyed it, I liked the Zombies, they were big and monster like, there's no concrete rules for Zombies so they can be portrayed differently even though Romero's early work set a classic standard. I also found the characters were of decent intelligence and pretty normal rather then being too cliched, no nerds, bad boys or sluts here. No new ground is broken but its a decent low budget 90 min zombie adventure, that's not too badly written. I gave it a 6/10

Bloody good review. I have nothing to add. Spot on.

I haven't decided on a rating for IMDb yet, but I rated it 2 stars on Netflix (I really wish they had a half star system as I thought it actually deserved 2.5). It was an OK flick, nothing great, but nothing too terrible...it kept me entertained the whole time. As one of the above posters mentioned, there were no typical slutty girls or sex scenes you normally find in horror movies, so that was refreshing. The one thing that WAS cliche that I absolutely cannot stand though was the scene...SPOILER...

When they are trying to escape on the bus and the guy feels the need to reverse and try to kill the zombie BEHIND them instead of just driving and getting out of there! Of course causing the gears to jam and mayhem to ensue. Grrr! lol

That was my reasons for the low rating. =)

Better than most cheapo zombie movies and at least it wasn't another found footage. The pacing a bit off at the start, and almost none of the characters were remotely likable. Yet it was entertaining and thrilling. I've seen probably over 10,000 horror movies and this was far from the worst.

Agree! Not great but not terrible either. A very average horror movie.
