Not worth it even for zombie diehards

I'm a zombie fan and I have sat through more than my share of sh!tfest zombie flicks including every zombie film syfy puts out. I watched the day of the dead remake TWICE! I continue to shill for The Walking Dead every season even though in truth they've been phoning it in since season 2. Fact is the vast majority of zombie flicks these days suck. Plain and simple. For every great flick there are 25 failures.

This is one of the failures. There wasn't much cgi, most of the effects were done in the old fashioned way but for the most part they were extremely poor. The zombies themselves were very cheaply done.

The acting was ok and the film work was as well and the story was a little refreshing but also nonsensical. I think with a bit more of a budget, the same actors and a mildly modified script this would have worked and been a decent flick.

The ending as it were made the entire film a waste of time, possibly setting up for a Part 2 that everyone knows by now will NEVER be made.

I cannot recommend this film to anyone. If there were no other films in existence I'd say give it a shot but with such a vast collection of material, I cannot recommend wasting time watching this when you could be watching something else.

I was on the fence of giving this a "4" since for me it was more like a 3.4 but the ending and padded reviews made me go with the "3" and I think it was fair.

Hey, I remember you from the Paris Hilton board ;)
I actually enjoyed this in a silly way. It had some decent gore, and I think you could do a lot worse. Especially in the zombie department.

reply

Ha! I never go there anymore. I fell in love with a paris fan so I won't insult her and if you don't have anything nice to say....

reply

Well you insulted this movie, now didn't you :P lol jk.

Aw, I'm so sad that people hated this movie! I thought it was the perfect movie for die-hard zombie fans...but I am a fan of the fast zombies and I know a lot of fans aren't too into that. I didn't even know it was a zombie movie when I bought it and I was pleasantly surprised.

I may be biased...I just love Katharine Isabelle.

Falling for a Paris fan is an insult to you both.

Anyway, I really don't see what's wrong with this NO BUDGET film. I think it was excellent, considering it had.. uh.. No budget and couldn't afford *beep* CGI.

Anyway, Paris Hilton fans are pussies, so I really think their opinions mean absolute *beep*

Are you implying you actually WANTED CGI? For practical effects, this was pretty damn impressive. I for one am getting seriously tired of the cliché Romero-esque zombies and this has to be the most original zombie flick since Dead Snow.

How can you say the ending made the entire film a waste of time, possibly setting up for a sequel? There wasn't a sequel hook in any way, as far as I know. The ending was indeed a little uncanny, but I liked that. Refreshing after so many stuff that ends with either everyone dying or a "happily ever after" thing. The "oh *beep* open ending was pretty damn inventive and something modern horror needs nowadays, in my opinion.

If you honestly think this was one of the worst zombie movies you've seen, you need to see more of them, man... This was average, but still better than most of the lower ends.

And the lack of CGI was a big plus. The zombies didn't look cheap at to me. They looked, well, dead. Not sure what you wanted...

Anyway, watch more movies because your taste sucks.

reply

Agree! Not a great movie but not terrible either! A very average horror movie.
