The Cuban Soldiers (Spoiler)

Somewhere during the film Tim Roth mentioned he learnt to kill in Angola. As he's dying towards the end listening to the South American music he hallucinates, or perhaps remembers, Cuban Soldiers in the back seats. I'm wondering how many people will even get that reference these days?
But it's an interesting movie and it feels unconventional though perhaps it's not really. Perhaps the smaller scale is just a refreshing change to the excessive weaponry and ridiculous body counts in so many films have these days.
