Horrible film! SyFy Channel quality! *spoilers*

Synopsis: Some guy who works in Hollywood as a special effects guy or something has anger management issues. He tries to go to a therapist but things get worse when he goes back to his old town and must literally confront his demon.

The Good:

1. It's not the usual "unsuspecting young people in an isolated area without working phones find themselves getting killed off one by one by some sort of monster or slasher". Getting tired of these types of films dominating the horror genre.

2. The filmmakers actually tried to offer something interesting. They didn't succeed. But I can always forgive filmmakers who try to make their movies engaging for the audience in some way. Trust me, there are those movies where you're watching it and wondering, "Is the director incompetent? Or does he merely not care about making a good picture that is pleasing to the audience? Why put this stupid stuff in the movie that's going to try the audience's patience?" And it pisses you off to watch a movie by a director who completely discounts the audience.

3. The movie lacks loud "Boom!" sound bites. I am sick of this stupid "Boom!" sound bites. I don't mind a sound bite, in general. But I absolutely hate the "Boom!" sound bites. This is one of the reasons why I generally don't watch many 21st century movies, either indie or major studio releases.

4. Another reason why I don't watch many 21st century movies is shaky cam. This movie lacks that. So I commend the director for keeping clear of it. I also commend him for not having the swaying cam. That's where the camera isn't shaking but it is swaying. And the constant swaying makes you have to adjust your eyes and reminds you there's a dude holding the camera.

5. As of 1/12/2014, there is only one review. That is filmaniac's 1-star review. I am glad the filmmakers didn't put in a bunch of phony reviews themselves, by their loved ones, or people they hired to write phony shill reviews. I'm getting sick of imdb.com letting idiots make 10/10 ratings and 10/10 reviews for godawful movies that shouldn't have even been released, let alone made.

The Bad:

1. The acting and dialogue is awful. Listening and seeing both will have you cringing and shaking your head throughout.

2. Cliched stock character: the jerk who is a total prick to everyone for the smallest reasons. This character showed up and had less than 10 seconds of screen time, acted like a jerk to someone for touching his stuff, and I said, "Yep. That guy's gonna die. Probably the next victim."

3. Cliched innocent girl who is dating the total prick. And she constantly apologizes for his actions, causing you to wonder why a supposedly innocent girl would date such a jerk.

4. Cliched situation involving the loner guy with the messed up past running afoul of authorities.

5. Loner guy meets up with people who never left the town and has some tension between him and some of them.

6. Offbeat humor that isn't funny and messes up the atmosphere of the movie.

7. Monster arranging the victims' bodies in odd ways for people to find the bodies and become surprised.

8. Did I mention the really bad dialogue and acting? If I did, I am putting it in a second time because the dialogue and acting truly were awful beyond belief.

9. Cliched situation where main character has a psychic link with the monster and starts convulsing/going into trance when monster attacks.

10. Why do guys with bald heads on the top grow out the side of the hair and fashion it into a ponytail? You may have a ponytail but you are STILL BALD.

11. Main character is in his cell, the water turns black, the lights begin to blink, he grabs the bar and you can see his right hand bending a bar that is supposed to be made of metal. Are the bars in the jail made out of plastic?

12. The lighting was weird. Some scenes were supposed to look like they were lit by a lamp or a room light. But it didn't look natural. It was obviously lit by the film crew's lighting, which jarred me out of the movie.

13. The biggest letdown: the special effects and monster were abysmally amateurish. You'll either laugh at the low quality monster outfit or you'll get angry that they'd waste your time trying to scare you with such a lame costume.

14. Nothing is ever explained. We never learn why he's able to conjure up some sort of cuddly-psycho guy in a monster costume simply because his dad was a wifebeater.

15. The stupid "surprise ending" that's been used in hundreds of horror movies: the filmmakers try to let the audience think the monster is dead but in the
last minute it is revealed the monster still lives.
