Why not make a documentary of Iraqi's and Afghani's

Whose families might have died, and show how they are affected by the war? and trying to make their ways back to life?

They already have a movie about that. It's called Good Will Hunting.

Huh? There are hundreds of films you could've used that would of made hell of a lot more sense. It's a message board, if you're gonna take a stab at "sharp-witted" sarcasm, take some time to think your response through, you have plenty of it.

There aren't many people that would bother to see that, much less pay for it (especially in the US). I'm pretty sure most film industries would see that and write it off as financial suicide.

I get that you're trying to be PC but, sometimes, realism just has to be brought into the equation.

Are you one of those people that just like to stir the pot because you lack respect for our great nation's warriors? You saw this trailer and you just felt compelled to get on this board and dismiss this film by suggesting another?

Adam,
I am one of those warriors; as a matter of fact I was one of the climbers in High Ground. Personally I think a film presenting the struggles and suffering of Iraq and Afghanistan civilians over the past 12 years would be appropriate and appreciated, and I feel that it would in no way belittle what I did as an individual.

Why not make a film on snow rabbits mating rituals in rabbit holes in northern Greenland.

They made a movie on this so why ask why they don't make a movie on something else.

It's a fair question people, there is an over-representation of the American/Western side of modern conflicts in large scale documentaries, there's no need to get heated.

To answer the question: I think mostly because Iraqis and especially Afghanis are reluctant to tell their story to westerners, which is fair considering we're the ones dropping bombs; but there are plenty of journalists that prefer to shoot the civilian perspective.

There are documentaries dedicated to the civilians affected the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and though I honestly can't recall any in particular I do remember that I've seen some very high quality documentaries on the matter.
