Uneven but rewarding to the patient

BP reminds me of one of those loosely-scripted, largely improvised comedy-dramas of the 60s-70s, such as John Cassavettes' Husbands. Take some fine actors, give them a roughly-sketched in dcript, and let em run with it. Janeane G is one of the most criminally underused comediennes (hardly) working today, and I can only assume her difficulties in this area are because she is an unabashed liberal, and dares to speak her mind. Hollywood still doesn't like "uppity women," apparantly! And Cheri O is also underappreciated, and she rocks in this film. BP is more of a sketch of various neurotic, overachieving suburban types than a full-out melodrama, and like life itself, it just sort of starts, and just sort of ends. I loved it, myself.
