Kate Wnslet's accent

I thought Winslet was fantastic. I'm surprised so many people here are bashing her performance.

So did I when she used it.. Some scenes it wasn't there at all.. Still a great performance

Because I listened carefully - the first few scenes there was zero accent - later, I heard it very distictnly, and amazingly enough, not a bit of during her angry 'FIX IT' rant scene, not the rest of the movie.

Which one?

Yeah. It was also great in The Reader.

I know consistency is a hallmark of imitating accents, but in reality I have met people who speak with mixed accents. Usually they are people who emigrated as children or young teens. Their native accents only come out when they are tired, stressed or around their families.
