I really tried to get to the end. But this movie is just too awful.

I was actually pretty excited for the premise: "Only show Steve Jobs at the presentation of 4-5 pivotal product launches". It's actually pretty clever, as these were undoubtedly key episodes in Jobs' career where he was under tremendous pressure to "deliver".

But the movie just falls flat. One problem is Fassbender's looks. He's a great actor, but even though he does what is possible with the *beep* script he's been given, he never even once manages to make me believe that he's Steve Jobs. The disconnect is just too strong.

But that's hardly the worst about this movie. The script is. It's more of the same Sorkin-trademarked pseudo-deep profound gobbledygook dialogue which serves no purpose but to say "hey watch these actors say my awesome lines!"

It's nothing. Not good, not bad, just meh. Danny Boyle isn't really to blame, the problem is the script and its cliched scenarios and dialogue.

When Sculley waits for Jobs at the NeXT presentation, like a James Bond villain waiting for Bond to turn up at his lair, I lost it. I couldn't believe they went full cliched move trope like they did. From that point on, I couldn't help but see this movie as a comedy.

This would have been too tacky for TV or VHS release. It's just a shame that the "official" Steve Jobs movie has to be this misguided Aaron Sorkin masturbatory project, instead of a movie that gave us a real idea what the man was about.

It's great that Tim Cook and Apple Inc. openly distanced themselves from this pile of doodoo.
