Missing Amnesia Cure Scene

I watched the film on Netflix and midway through the film Kondo abruptly goes from being a hopeless amnesiac into in prior professional self. No explanation whatsoever as though a portion of the film was missing. Seeing him and his soon to be bride discover his real identity would have been a great part of the story. I don't need to be spoon-fed but it seemed very strange.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

Obviously, after hearing favorite song of Beethoven, which he usually hears before "killing his victim", the guy came back to his old self.
I dont think the director need to make a specific explaination about this in the movie.

reply

It was perfectly obvious to me but may not have been for people who find it hard to recognize classical music pieces. The record that Kanae played was the Beethoven playing when Kondo took care of Iwaki, so that triggered his memory.

Often, sounds and smells can trigger memories that sight cannot.

reply

Like others have said. It was the music.
I actually liked how the scene was not spoonfed and we had to pay attention.
Although any attentive movie-watcher would have easily noticed the transition.
