Movie Trailer and Release Dates

Read the book; thought it was great. Am keen to see the flick but cannot hone in on a trailer available online; which brings me to my next question, anyone know what kind of a release this film will get (out of the UK in particular)?

Cheers in advance.

If this film is released at the cinema then it's likely to be at art houses. It was shown at the London Film Festival and I missed it there. As yet there's no UK release advertised. It has received good ratings on the IMDb, better than it's 5.0 score suggests, so *fingers crossed*, it will get released at some point.

I'm reading the book but struggling with its verbal style, I can't decide if striving for authenticity of speech makes it pretentious, and also the characters, neither of whom I like particularly.

I'd figured as much regarding the classification of an 'arthouse flick'. Apart from Hot Property Films/Venom and a few online reviews, not much can be found on the net about it. Hence the post. The no-UK-release as yet doesn't look crash hot on the other side of the world.

I liked the book probably because it hit a spot that I wasn't used to at the time (no pun intended), despite the fact that it borrows way too much from other places. Even got used to Griffy's style (which isn't saying much after reading Irvine Welsh of Trainspotting fame).

Finally I finished the book and ... liked it but it's incredibly bleak. Makes me wonder about the film now, wish they would release it. How will the book as told from the viewpoint of Victor and then the viewpoint of Kelly translate onto screen? Will the viewer appreciate the different experiences of each if filmed in a linear narrative?

Keep silent unless what you are going to say is more important than silence.

Delayed response, I know.

Ended up buying the DVD over eBay (for those of you who may want it but are unable to find it in local stores).

To answer your question, PoppyTransfusion: honestly, it didn't translate well (for me at least - you've probably seen it by now). I adore book-to-film opportunities, but like in most cases of this ilk, the book was better. And not by a margin; this was lacking substantially (I can deconstruct my justification but opted for the short version because I cbf at the moment ha). That said, I felt Julian Morris did an alright job in regards to Victor's character.

Hello again and thanks for the update. I've seen the film too since I last posted and agree with you completely. I found the film boring, which given its terrain was an achievement of sorts. I didn't feel the characters at all and there was a lack of chemistry, pain and compulsion. The film was made pretty and more positive. Why??

I watched it on dvd too. It was released where I am on film but I didn't catch it at the cinema.
