Can someone spoil the ending for me please?

I love ghost stories, but reading multiple reviews and comments about this movie makes it a movie I'm interested in knowing about but not enough to watch the whole thing...

What happens in the end?
(And maybe, what are the scary/interesting parts throughout the movie?)

Wishing that heroes, they truly exist (since 2000)

There is no light for this ghost. Scarier than you think it would be.

If you are on the fence about seeing it, then I would suggest you wait for it to appear on cable or rent it from the library. It's more psychological horror than it is straight horror. If you like Saw, then this is not for you. If you like The Conjuring, then it isn't for you. If you enjoy The Shining, then I would say take a chance.

Thanks for the reply!

I love a lot of horror movies - gore to psychological. You've definitely peaked my interest in this movie by revealing the end twist.

Thanks for not elaborating more info on the spoiler, like how, why, and what the h happened to her. This adds to my curiosity

One favourite psychological movie for me is a Korean film called A Tale of Two Sisters.

I need help with the ending...... since this is a 'spoiler' thread, I hope I don't ruin it for someone who hasn't watched it yet.
I get that she realizes she kills herself, but her other self (sausage guy) gets his eyes back and is crying. She is saying 'there is no light'. I get that there is no light for some ghosts, like herself, but I would have thought they would have merged at the end?
Who was talking to her in the end?
What happened to Sylvia?

reply

I think the implication is she is deliberately forgetting her life over and over again because she is not going to the light. Neither is sausage guy. No light comes for either of them. She chants "I am a ghost" over an over again to reassure herself that she doesn't have to cross over to whatever darkness awaits. Effing disturbing.

Also-- I wonder about her missing mom and sister. The more I think about it, the less I believe that they just "went away" one day.

But who was the man? That's the only thing I didn't really get. Just another persona?

reply

Yes, he was the violent part of herself that she denied. The part of herself that may have attacked or even killed her family. She denies him/it so that she doesn't have to face judgement and enter the darkness.
