She was such a rascal! So cute!

No wonder RFK loved her. She kept him laughing. She was sued for horse thievery! Can you imagine the look on Bobby's face when he found out what she did? Bless her heart...she saw abuse and neglect and just took those horses out of harms way. And then, after much ado, she won the case. Priceless! I love that she knew when not to follow the rules...she was a rebel then and I'm betting she still is. Bless her.

I agree!
I love that she was a little rebel. She's really cute now. She still has the spirit in her eyes.

I agree as well, she was/is a remarkable woman. She was the "Woman behind the Man", and no doubt helped make Robert Kennedy the great man he was. In her day, that's the most a woman could hope to be.

She was SO cute hamming it up in those old home movies. As you say, she still has that spirit at age 84. It seems appropriate that she is the remaining survivor of "Camelot". The history of the Kennedy family is just so prolific, its a real blessing to have someone who was right in the middle of all of it to be able to tell her story. Major props to Rory for making this piece, and to her mother for having the courage to share her life perspective.

I caught this one night when I was channel surfing and thought it was an interesting look into the life of someone that you just didn't hear about often and thought "Now there's a kindred spirit!". Rascal is certainly what I would use! I actually find her more interesting than Jackie because she comes across as human. Jackie was too restrained or "well-bred" and Ethel was out there loving life and teaching her kids the same. Image be damned, we are going to have fun. The bit about the scooter? I cracked up! The horse stealing? LMAO! What fun is it to be staid and well-mannered all the time? Have fun, don't take life so seriously. None of us get out alive.
