My scorecard for the finale

1. Dom - its not perfect, but it's the most cohesive. Its also the only one that has a real story to it. Its also colorful, which is always a bold route to take because we all love black and white. Overall its thoughtful, cohesive, personal. She deserved the win.

2. Ken - its a really classy collection, but some of the construction mistakes are so evident. That breast is so big and so low, it's just bad. There's a certain strange chicness and also off-the-rackness in his collection.

3. Kini - yet again, like him during his season, Kini proves again that he is a sewer, not a designer. His designs looks so cheap (enough with the side ruffles, seriously), its old-fashioned. Its like a bad 80s design ideas. Its also 2 different collections in one, its not cohesive.

1) Dom
2) Kini

3) Ken

I agree about Dom, although I was not a huge fan of her stripe print. But like you said, it was personal to her, so I can at least appreciate the artistry she put into it (and all of her work, for that matter). She created something new instead of just repeating designs she'd done before, like the other two did.

I'd switch Ken and Kini around on your list. I was not impressed by one thing Ken sent down the runway. All his pieces, refined as some were, read very basic and simple. Nothing spectacular at all. In fact, I don't think any of those designs would have won a challenge during this season. Of all the collections, the four-day timeframe was most apparent with this one. I personally don't think he should have even been in the top three.

Kini I had mixed feelings about. I liked his darker looks, but his absolutely non-cohesive fray into color really threw me. I didn't understand what he was going for as a story or how any of that related to NYC. But his men's look I surprisingly liked. As usual, his pink and purple dresses looked like bugs. It came across as more on the costume side - like something you'd see in the Capitol in the Hunger Games.
