I get the whole "actor" metaphor but I'm confused as to what her conclusion is. Did she quit the industry, did her career die for clinging onto the past, did she really die, or did the character just die, and if so, why was Oscar so crazy when he saw her character's body on the floor?
shareMy take is her character died. Oscar freaked because of his past association with the actress. He wasn't meant to be present for the scene and so was unprepared for the outcome. His reaction is like that of a film viewer.

remember when "Henry", for whom "Eva" was waiting, was going up the stairs, he was calling her "Jean" and not Eva !
If she was still playing a role, that guy should be calling her Eva and not Jean -which was her real name as Oscar was calling her that.
I am thinking she really killed herself to maybe get out of the industry.
I am not sure if these workers die. Oscar got stabbed and shot and lived. I think Jean could have jumped off the building and lived...but all we see is her up there on the top of the building then on the sidewalk. It could be an act. It did not even happen in real time, since the guy who followed her was on the sidewalk too, right? I thought there were two bodies on the ground.
