Asian extra in Luck of the Half-Irish

In the most recent episode (July 15th's "Luck of the Half Irish"} there is a moment where the usually cold and mercenary Ok Cha (Jodi Long) takes kindly to a Asian woman because she thinks they look alike. The extra is an obvious performing non-pro who says nothing and the whole thing has the clunky, unfunny feel of metahumor. Does anyone know the joke? I ass-u-me she is Steve Byrne's real mother (the real world Ok Cha), but she could also be from Jodi Long's real family, or a contest winner, or just bad writing. Metahumor, right... ha ha? I guess.

She lets her sit in the lucky stool for free because she looks like her. It was a tacky joke but it wasnt the worst one.

Steve Byrne tweeted recently that his real-life parents would be appearing in an upcoming episode, I assume that was it.

Thank you. I did DVR a repeat, and decided during a shot of her in the background over Byrne's shoulder that the likeness to him (eyes, cheekbones and mouth particularly) seemed more then coincidental.
