Song that Joseph Sings at Dinner

Just saw the film and liked it. One question: what was the song that Joseph started singing during dinner with his (Palestinian) family? Must be significant because the family joined in singing. So it is a song familiar to Palestinians and Israelis. Thank you in advance.

There was mention of this in the DVD extras, but I can't remember the details now. Maybe something about it being a song learned in their youth? I thought that maybe Joseph sought out songs that his biological parents would have known and learned it to perform for them as a way of letting them know that he felt connected to them and wanted to be even more so. Which I found amazing. Like the rest of this movie!

I want to know that song title also. That was a very moving scene. All the music in this film was very apropos.

So often in foreign films we don't get a translation of the lyrics of the song, even when, as here, it seems to play a significant role in the story.
