Just because they add an explanation doesn't mean it makes it anymore believable. Kinda like Superman's laser vision or freezing breath.

Love isn't logical oh MasterofLogic. If you think this relationship isn't possible in real life because there is a difference in hotness level between them, then I feel sorry for you. You must have led an extremely sheltered and shallow life up until now and will be lucky if you ever have a relationship yourself.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes you see those kinds of mismatches. Yoko Ono married a rock star, John Lennon, despite being fairly average looking.
