Fascinating premise with unsatisfactory elements. SPOILER Alert!

What an amazing premise: that the man who accidentally killed a girl would then secretly become involved with her mother, especially since the mother was in semi-denial over the girl's death. He wants to redeem his *sin* while the mom needs someone to believe her fantasy. I can so get how they'd be magnetized to each other!

But, because of the creepy element of his secret predation, I couldn't find the two sympathetic enough to warrant the betrayal of the grieving Dad.
