Do you know most of the world has the age of consent at 14? Only in America, India and half of Africa do they have laws saying an adult having sex with someone under 18 it illegal.

I agree no one should have sex with children, but most the people being arrested are having sex with teenagers. Like the movie says, wasn't the virgin Mary 14? Does that mean God is promoting "pedophilia"?

Let me make it simple. Females are PHYSICALLY developed usually by 15 or 16. ALL heterosexual men are attracted to physically developed females, even if the vast majority, for legal or moral reasons (or simply to protect their reputations), are not going to mess around with females under 18, even though they probably find the older ones perfectly physically attractive. So if your definition of "pedophile" is any adult male who is ATTRACTED to a female under 18 then that means pretty much EVERY male is a pedophile! That might be some kind of great "feminist" declaration, but it doesn't do a damn thing to protect society from ACTUAL pedophiles. It's HIGHLY counterproductive actually

The people to really worry about are the people sexually attracted to prepubescent CHILDREN (pedophiles), and moreover people who actually molest children (child molesters). This is a much smaller group thankfully. But if there wasn't so much reactionary hysteria on this subject, more pedophiles might seek treatment BEFORE they become child molesters. Treatment often doesn't work, yes, but it's better than not even trying, and some may actually choose voluntary chemical castration. I'm sure would if I had horrible urges like that.

But, moreover, the US especially wastes WAY too much time and money prosecuting 20 year olds for having sex with 16 year olds, which is actually totally NORMAL. This takes resources AWAY from dangerous pedophiles and child molesters. The more people like the OP want to prosecute practically every male there is as "sex offenders" or "pedophiles", the less resources get devoted to the GENUINELY dangerous pedophiles and the more they slip through the cracks. This doc is saying a very similar thing to what I am, and if you think that's "excusing pedophilia" than I give up because you're simply an unreasonably hysterical moron.
