This *beep* fest lasted 3 seasons?

And then people complain about all the *beep* TV that gets produced?

Face it, Americans love *beep* so *beep* shows get made.

reply

I think in the later seasons the show realised it was a joke and made fun of itself on a meta sort of level, which made it more watchable.

You really have to be able to dispel reality to enjoy the show.

reply

Well, I'm all for suspending my expectations of reality with TV shows. But a movie or show that builds a certain setting based in real-world realities only works if you are able to depend on the reality being presented. It doesn't work where it's impossible to know everyone's motives and constantly change them. It was like everytime that show invited the audience to believe something, it pulled the rug right out from under you. So you could never come to accept anything the show proffers because once you do, it changes, sometimes so dramatically, that the audience can never settle in and digest what is happening.

It just makes you lose interest because there's no point in trying to predict anything or understand and answer any questions being raised by teh writers for that matter. Well any question other than, "I wonder if this guy is a follower or being honest."

reply

So basically the writers knew that the audience was comprised of boneheads and just wrote whatever, even if they were drunk, knowing nobody would care

It was Crap with a capital "C."

I find it hard to believe (and stomach) that this abomination actually polluted the airwaves for 3 seasons, too. But considering how idiotic and amateurishly-plotted most series that air on U.S. network TV are, maybe it's not so surprising after all. My bad for expecting an actually good TV show...I should have known better.

Mustard goes on Hot Dogs. Mayo goes on Burgers. There will be no compromise on this.

reply

You can say Crap but not *beep*

Anyway, this show was an absolute crap fest. "Duhhhhhhhhh... Um wit dee FBI... Duhhhhhhhhh... Um dee smurt won. All dee odder agunts arr reeeeely dummmmb."

Americans are stupid as *beep*

reply

I like Kevin Bacon but not this much. I had to quit 12 minutes into the second episode of S1.

And you make a good point. 3 seasons is just....*beep*.

I'm headed over to AMZN to watch Mr. Church again. I really need something to wipe out the last 70 minutes of gore.
