An idea for how to fix this movie

First off, don't make this woman already a marriage counselor. Because she's terrible at it. I was confused as to how anybody would want to even go to see this woman, considering how years of school and training apparently went out the window once she met The Man Of Her Dreams (or whatever).

You can make her a counselor AFTER she's screwed up her life.

Throw out the AIDS thing. Throw it out. Think about your audience, before you put something like that in your movies. Punishing her with AIDS makes little to no sense in this movie. And there's no other way to see it, because it has no other purpose in the movie. (Not only was he the proto-Devil, BUT he also couldn't afford condoms. For some reason.)

Finally, don't make The Man Of Her Dreams into a proto-Devil. Make him the REAL Devil. Complete with the whole temptation, seduction, and purification thing. Come on, man, prayer can't solve everything. Let's have some Divine Retribution thrown in there, for good measure.

I'm sort of joking, but if you did these things the movie would be at least CLOSER to a good movie. I think. And I'm sick of the constant "everybody just pray" solution to everything. Because it doesn't work. Sure, it might give you peace of mind or something, but it doesn't actually SOLVE anything.

Take the play THE HAVES AND HAVE NOTS. The rich man saved the day. Not because God tapped him on the shoulder and told him to do so, but simply because he wasn't really a jerk. The constant prayer to God throughout the movie was actually pointless, because in the end, his kindness saved the day, and nothing else. God had no influence in the play whatsoever.

I still maintain that Tyler Perry is not the world's worst director. Or creator. Or even actor. He has potential. But I think he needs to step back his whole "God is always the answer" routine, and try to focus more on the real dynamics of his stories.

People, and how people can save each other.

You didn't come here to make the choice, you're here to understand why you made it.
