I will give you Friday and Next Friday, but the rest are garbage. The other movies that others have listed were written/directed/or produced by white people. The Color Purple was directed by Spielberg.

So the black movies are not the ones dealing with black culture and with predominantly black people in and behind them, but it's the movies that has not a single non-black involved in making it? O.k, that does narrow the field a bit. But there's no reason to really start arguing here, because the op definitely is a troll, and that is a fact not opinion. The "you just don't like what I'm saying" is completely bs. There is not a hint substance in the post to begin with, just a very thinly veiled antagonizing, racist remark.

I'll even add Dreamgirls (2006) to the list because it was good and fun although not panned by everyone as universally great.

Or do you not consider these as "black" movies because there are some white people involved? How do you define "black" movies anyway, is it those that only have 100% black acting cast and only employs black directors/producers/writers/technicians/artists, etc? How does that work anyway, I'm certain there are zero American movies past say, 1960, that only had white people working on it. So what do you consider "white" movies then? Russian/Italian/Swedish etc.? Then you're grouping "black" people as consisting of only one culture and ethnicity and no variety whatsoever. You are not a Somali, Ethiopian or a Jamaican. No, no, you're just black and you're all identical just like all white people are identical, with no differences between a Dutch person and a Georgian. Do you think this makes sense?

You know what City of God, Ray, Hotel Rawanda, Ali, Dream Girls, and Beast of the Southern Wild have in common? None were directed by black people.
shareJust because some movies are not backed as much as others doesn't make it a bad film. And actually, I love Django, the Wiz, Losing Isaiah, Green Pastures, there are A LOT of Nigerian movies that rock, Of course Tyler Perry's Temptation is going to be GREAT and many more.
Here's the difference...the unfortunate truth...reality...almost EVERY movie that is made where the cast is majority Black, well those characters are struggling in life and are just making what they have work for them...it's EXTREMELY RARE to find a Black movie that portrays Black people in a BEAUTIFUL light, when you do find a movie that does just that..well, that's when you will find others saying just how horrible it is...but let me ask you this...Rachegedankan, are you Black? Because the way that you write I would think that you are White....assuming that it's safe to say that you are...it appears that some people (I can't say you're one of them..I don't know..but lets just humor each other)of the White race would just simply not like Black movies too much because of the majority casting..I don't know if it's because the excuse would be "I can't relate to the character" or what...but I can say this...it can be due to the fact that the racist White people are the ones that raise their children with a certain frame of thinking. And that's how we get the racism to spread in this world sadly...You know, it's really sad..because instead of just saying why you feel the way that you do...some people just do not know how else to say it other than in a rude manner. just like all of our disney movies...well the characters are mainly White...but just because a low budget company makes a Black cartoon doesn't mean it's horrible...it just means that it's not backed by a major production..that's all and tyler perry's production is awesome! His movies are looking like actual movies that you would see anywhere! Like, 20 dates, how to lose a guy in 10 days, legally blonde, the matrix etc. I think Tyler is doing a great job and people are going to hate no matter what. So it is what it is...all we can do is pray for each other and keep a kickin' ...because you can't cure stupidity or ignorance..and quite frankly, I'm NOT going to attempt to!

Hence your lack of understanding of Institutionalized Racism, White Privlege, Self Hatred and it's affects. This thread is example of how all Blacks are defined by the acts of one or two. The title suggests that ALL Blacks are defined by this one director. You don't find that Jerry Springer being stereotyped as a typical Jew. Honeybooboo as a typical White person. I know it isn't politically correct, but you can't deny the fact that if the writer/producer/director/cast are black, the movie is going to be terrible. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but they are few and far between. I seem to recall D.L. Hughley a few years ago saying how "black" movies are always poorly made.

TBH, I understand what you are saying in reference to the sterotypes that many other cultures wish to accept...but as for me...the point of the matter is simply this...not ALL Black movies that are made done poorly. Simple as that. And the remark you made that why can't Black people accept anything...that is a racist comment/can at least be viewed as one. There are plenty of things that I'm sure Black people along with many other races are not well skilled in...but the fact of the matter is...the topic states are Black people embarassed by this producer's film...and the answer is NO. Wow... I only had to read a few of your posts to clearly see you are very... well, racist. As an educated black filmmaker from one of the most prestigious universities in the nation, I find your opinion to be very degrading. It is not the skin color of a person that determines if they are a good filmmaker or not. The question is, does the film work???? Tyler Perry makes pretty bad movies backed by pretty bad writing, etc. but for you to generalize an entire race is simply irrational and illogical. A lot of the films that people have named that are "made" by black filmmakers are great films but, you sir, have a big ego and a very narrow mind to sit there and say that, "All black films are terrible."
I would love to see you try and make a "great" film.

Plenty of white people can dance. Wtf? Dancing is a skill you acquire through learning. You aren't instantly born an amazing dancing star fresh out of the womb you moron. There are plenty of Jews who aren't stingy. I've met PLENTY of people from all ethnicities and races who are stingy as hell and are incredibly selfish. It all depends on how the person you were raised. Plenty of Asians can drive otherwise if they didn't they would be causing vehicular accidents constantly on a daily basis. Which would have killed off their entire population by now.
