Liked this right up until the second the movie ended(spoiler)

I really enjoyed the plot. I thought the family was crazy. Then the real crazy killer came and made it even more interesting....and then he axed himself and they got away. I really wanted him to pop out again on the road. It should have kept on going. If this guy was super-crazy killer, he should have killed more then 2 of them.

That would gave been the usual thing to do. One of the things that made this movie so interesting is that it never did the usual thing.

I really loved how the two halves of the movie were completely hackneyed (couple rooms with people who seem out to get them; crazy killer is on the loose), but put together they were refreshingly new and added a touch of dark humor.

Just watched it this weekend. Did we ever find out what the 'secret ingredient' was in her famous blueberry muffins? I know it was made to look like it was blood, but I don't remember if they ever gave the secret away.

No, but berry sauce can look like blood, so that's my guess.

Maybe it was some kind of liquor, so she'd want to keep that a secret, since she didn't condone drinking.

To get that kind of response out of people? Those muffins were like crack to people! Blood is that cliché food enhancer in awful horror films.

I just put it down to bad writing. I went into this film expecting Skip and Hilvida (whatever her name is) to be the antagonists but then the film did a complete 180. It all went downhill as soon as the sister walked in.
