The nod to Hitchcock's Vertigo

Did anyone else notice the tip of the hat Populaire gave to Hitchcock's Vertigo? When Louis and Rose were in the hotel and she came out in the red dress with that hotel sign brightly lit outside the window, it was definitely an homage to the scene when Kim Novak walks out of a doorway in the gray suit with that brightly lit green sign outside the window casting that somewhat ethereal glow over everything. Even the music Populaire chose for this scene was very reminiscent of the Vertigo score (which is the score of all scores).

One little gripe though. This scene should've stopped with Louis and Rose kissing and not progressed to the sex scene which didn't match the feel of the movie at all. It could've been implied that they had sex.

I digress. I do believe the French love Alfred Hitchcock. I loved seeing this little nod to him.

Yes, I immediately thought of Vertigo too.

The bit later with the nudity did seem out of place, but DF is such an incredible looking woman, I didn't mind too much!
