Very enjoyable movie.

The French are taking over comedy. Like Intouchables this movie is also very funny and charming. If you are thinking about going to this film or not...GO!!!!!! You won't be sorry. (Unless you only like big blockbusters like Transformers)

Did go and thoroughly enjoyed it. I usually hate romcoms, but the French always manage to make them funny and charming. It was nice to see Berenice Bejo again.

It kinda reminded me of Romain Duris' previous film 'Heartbreaker'. It was a cheesy rom-com but it was done in a far more fun way than an American version would have with some genuine laughs.

SLIGHT SPOILER

While far from explicit and not really going beyond the foreplay, the sex scene jarred a bit, as it didn't really fit in with the retro, '50s style of the film... By all means, let us know that they'd slept together. But, in this case, actually showing it didn't fit in with the feel of the rest of the film... However, that really is my only (very minor) niggle... I really enjoyed this..! Sweet, stylish, fun and who'd have thought typing could be so exciting?

Good point. I felt the same way. The sex scene would've felt less "anachronistic" - stylistically speaking - if it had matched the rest of the film which was charming and evocative of films from that period.

badgerking, I couldn't agree with you more. The sex scene is my only complaint in the entire film. It didn't match the feel and tone of the movie.

yenerowitz, you are so right that the French are completely owning the breezy, light-hearted, smile-inducing movies. I loved this movie.

If you haven't seen another French film called Romantics Anonymous, I highly recommend it.

A lot of charm indeed. Watching Populaire certainly creates a care-free experience with its engaging characters.

I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.
