Is This a Liberal Propaganda Film?

I see this is coming on Redbox soon and I'm very interested in Border issues and illegal immigration. I am a tea party activist and was involved in efforts to stop in-state tuition for illegals.

Is this movie a very liberal movie that promotes illegal immigration and tries to make excuses or justify the illegals? Or is it more balanced?

reply

somewhat, yes

reply

yes unfortunately it is against racism and about helping desperate people who want to make a living and escape a misserable life and violent gruesome death at the hands of american funded drug lords, and also about being more human than a law ridden robot who cant make a decision if it diverts from their political coated prejudice against brown colored bean eating soaked backbone subhumans. It is also a true story (god forbid them for exposing it)

reply

When will they ever make a movie about Americans suffering from the effects of illegal immigration, such as the American blue collar worker whose wages are driven down.

I think ENd of Watch is a good movie that actually portrays illegal aliens in a realistic fashion for a change.

I stopped reading your psychotic liberal rant at "...because it's not an important issue."

Actually it is. This is AMERICA, not Mexico. Why should we have to deal with Mexican problems like the cartels? What, just because Americans buy drugs from Mexican gangs because it's illegal in the United States that makes us to blame for their toothless, corrupt law enforcement agents and politicians?

Give me a break.

Yes, there is tragedy behind illegal immigration but it PALES IN COMPARISON to the damage these criminals do to honest hard working Americans.

Again, this is AMERICA, not Mexico.

Are you kidding me? The violence HASN'T spilled over? Go look at the statistics of Los Zetas and other cartel related gang elements that are spreading throughout the United States like a wildfire.

People like you (and no, you are not conservative you're the poster boy of liberalism) tend to carry the blame for the woes of the world on your shoulders. You harbor a lot of privileged, western guilt. You do that because you think it gives you a moral high ground, which it doesn't. It just makes you... a liberal.

The "war on drugs" isn't black and white. I wouldn't want to live in a country where shooting up heroin is as legal as buying a cup of coffee. I do believe that pot should be 100% legal because it is harmless and accounts for a HUGE chunk of cartel revenue, not to mention the fact that if we were to grow/tax/distribute legally in the states it would create millions of jobs and funnel billions into the economy, greatly reducing our debt.

There is NO EXCUSE for illegal immigration, and these liberal Hollywood sob stories are meant to evoke the exact response from people like you that you have shown here.

You are arguing with a neocon Sarah Palin type "intelectual". I think it's futile :)

reply

Pal, you are absolutely clueless. Go to mises.org and cato.org and learn something about Libertarian immigration policy. You have displayed such a woeful ignorance of the issue it's mindboggling. Listening to the dumb black'n'white neocon propaganda is messing with your mind. That's for sure. I personally think it's even worse than Liberal propaganda. Actually both Liberal and Neocon politicians are responsible for the horrible immigration situation. I bet you are also a warmonger and think America should dictate its view on the world to everyone

The point you make about people willing to work for less driving blue collar wages down is a valid point.
But think about it. Do the money people, the people who really run the country, want high wages cutting into their profit margins? More competition for jobs means lower wages. Supply and demand.
Any American government, past or present, could have taken a huge bite out of illegal immigration very easily if they had wanted to. All it would take is to throw a few employers of undocumented workers in jail. This doesn't happen and in fact one of the last actions taken by George W. Bush before he left office was to pardon a fellow Texan who was convicted and fined for using illegal labor. That sent a real message didn't it.
Jailing those employers who use and exploit undocumented workers would make other employers think twice about using them. No jobs available would mean no illegals crossing the border. It wouldn't take long for the shortage of workers willing to do menial labor to start to hurt the economy. This would prompt the government to allow more legal immigration. These would be documented workers who would be protected from exploitation and have certain rights under the law.
The cash cow of cheap labor would soon dry up and there would be some rich businessmen not too happy. So instead of going to the root of the problem we blame the exploited victims of greed instead of those profiting from it.
And that's the way the money people want it to be.

reply

There are easily 4 billion people in this world worse off than Mexicans. How many do you want to bring in? Are you cool with them moving into your area?

reply

it is against racism
You're an idiot! What racism? We have to defend our borders you fool, that's not racism! Do you think the U.S. can accommodate every person that's trying to escape "a miserable life"? You whiny-assed liberals should all go to California and we'll let Mexico have you.

reply

Yes, it is definitely liberal propaganda.

reply

it's not a documentary so you can read whatever you want into it...it may be taking a sympathetic stance in favor of humane treatment for those crossing illegally but I would hope only for Mexicans and other Latin Americans crossing b/c they see a better life here than in their own country--not in favor of criminal element coming in however since there are no "background checks" until after the fact how can we know...anyway, check out the movie and form your own opinion...some of the acting is pretty good (yes, even Sharon in some scenes) but the dark hair just makes Sharon look haggard she would have been better off w/lighter color to soften her features--i do not think she cares that much personally...may have done movie just for the bucks or maybe she is an activist for such causes...do not pay much attention to any news articles about her.

I can attest that yes, this film is little more than liberal propaganda—with the added demerits of woeful acting and an haggard, comically bad Sharon Stone.

reply

Serious, serious, almost farcical propaganda. Propaganda not just on the poor Mexicans and how our laws cause them all to be killed and tortured, and how our drug laws do the same -- propaganda to make we Americans feel so good about our country, the teary eyed hopes of everyone to be here, to have their baby born here.

Throw in a seriously implausible twisted plot (You've got to love the little shack announcing the tunnel to America entrance), and you've got pure propaganda.

reply

Yes it's fully liberal propaganda.
