Turn the sound off

The narrative is full of innacuracies - too many to list.

I gave it a 5, just because of the colour.

Watch it only for the pictures.

Don't believe anything the narrator is saying, just to be on the safe side.

I'm no expert but the first scene in the opening sequence shows a German soldier marching in formation. It looks like he wearing a WWI helmet. These helmets were deeper than WWII helmets.
Thoughts?

I thought that the narrative was generally well done. I didn't notice anything particularly wrong although the narrator did say that Roosevelt died of heart attack, which is incorrect (Roosevelt actually died of a massive Cerebral hemorrhage). What did the OP hear that was so bad?

reply

He probably [thought] he heard that Poland invaded Germany and the USA bombed Pearl Harbor in stolen Japanese planes.

reply

I saw it a while ago. Don't remember all the details. Polish cavalry charging German panzers was the one thing I remember (it was a German propaganda myth).

I don't want to rewatch it now.

reply

You are correct about the Polish Calvary "charging panzers" as German propaganda that is still passed on today. What really happened is the Polish Calvary were trying to get to their mobile cannons and were demolished while on horseback.
The commentary stated the original Nazi version.
I don't see that one instance of "misunderstanding" enough reason to refuse a well put together documentary though. Give it another shot.

He said it was a legend. Ear cleaning is possible

I agree with turn the sound off. To change history to todays values versus to be trustees of the truth only serves the interest of the six and not the fourteen million which were taken off this earth is unconciensentable. My family's destiny and many other "ethnic" groups paid the same price. Well let's just say turn the sound off.

Thanks for your views The_Refleks. Sorry about these weirdos, above, replying who refer to themself as we and us! I wish you could block these freaks from coming near your post

Yes the OP posted more than two years ago and never even gave one example. Exactly what are you think him/her for?

reply

Well for one thing, in Turning the Tide, the narrator is discussing HFDF direction finding for locating u boats. But the background audio is SONAR/ASDIC pings and ethos. I've noticed this when discussing radar as well - perhaps in another series though.
